BOSS™ 2025 Year-Round: Belief in Action, Excellence in Motion

In 2025, BOSS continued building what we’ve always believed young men deserve: not just programs, but infrastructure for transformation. Through year-round, multi-year engagement rooted in our six BOSS Pillars—Economic, Emotional, Mental, Physical, Social, and Spiritual—we equipped more than 175 scholars with the academic support, mentorship, leadership development, and real-world exposure needed to move from passengers to drivers in their own lives.

This year marked seven consecutive semesters of BOSS scholars outperforming district peers, with 97% of graduates pursuing post-secondary pathways. Nearly half of participating scholars gained at least one full grade level in math, while 60% achieved the same growth in reading. BOSS scholars scored 63% higher in math proficiency than district averages and continued demonstrating what happens when opportunity meets structure, accountability, and belief.

The 8th Annual BOSS Showcase and Awards Weekend at Cal State Long Beach and the Long Beach Marriott brought together scholars, families, professionals, and community leaders for a celebration of growth, leadership, and excellence. The LA Rams honored Founder and CEO Everett Glenn with the 2025 pLAymaker Award recognizing decades of service and transformational impact in the lives of under-resourced youth. Scholars engaged in speed networking with professionals across industries, toured Cal State Long Beach, and were celebrated for exemplifying the BOSS Pillars.

Throughout the year, BOSS scholars participated in high-impact career exposure and leadership experiences with organizations including Microsoft, Deloitte, Pacsun, UBS Wise River Advisors, NSBE, the Port of Long Beach, and the Los Angeles Rams. Students explored pathways in engineering, finance, sports consulting, AI, media, entrepreneurship, and technology while building confidence, communication skills, and professional networks.

Our BOSS Talks, BOSS Saturdays, and leadership labs challenged scholars to strengthen character, emotional resilience, financial literacy, and purpose-driven leadership. Sessions like Unbreakable BOSSWinning Right Now, and Ballin’ on a Budget reinforced the habits and mindset necessary for long-term success.

The 2025 Summer Academy continued our commitment to rigorous summer learning and exposure. Scholars engaged in coding, AI, robotics, financial literacy, business pitch competitions, and STEM exploration while participating in field experiences including Rams Training Camp, Team Liquid’s Alienware Training Facility, the Port of Long Beach, and Lakers programming.

Most importantly, 2025 reflected something deeper than metrics. It reflected momentum. From aerospace engineering majors and national champions to young scholars opening their first bank accounts and discovering confidence in their own voices, BOSS continued proving that talent is everywhere—even when opportunity is not. We are not simply preparing boys for school. We are preparing them to lead, innovate, serve, and build futures that ripple across families, industries, and generations.
