BOSS™ 2024 Year-Round: From Success to Significance

2024 marked a defining year for BOSS™—a year of expansion, excellence, and execution. Guided by a new Strategic Plan and strengthened leadership team, BOSS took major steps toward its long-term vision of moving from success to significance

The year began with the addition of Program Director Ryan Tolan, a seasoned STEM educator and curriculum designer. His arrival brought new depth to BOSS’s academic, mentoring, and leadership tracks—ensuring every scholar continued to develop across the six foundational pillars: Mental, Emotional, Physical, Social, Economic, and Spiritual

From the 7th Annual BOSS Showcase at Cal State Long Beach, where 200+ LBUSD boys explored future careers through speed mentoring and exposure to industry leaders, to the BOSS Gala celebrating scholars who exemplify the BOSS Pillars, the year was filled with purpose and pride

BOSS expanded its career exposure footprint through partnerships with Microsoft, the Los Angeles Rams, AEG Futures, TiE Orange County, and the Chargers—offering behind-the-scenes access to sports, tech, finance, and entrepreneurship.

Students thrived academically and personally. Scholars like RJ Jenkins advanced from a 2.5 to a 4.3 GPA, while others earned national awards in STEM, music, writing, and athletics. The “How to Become the Boss of Your Brain” mental wellness workshop underscored BOSS’s holistic approach to growth—teaching self-regulation, resilience, and emotional strength

Through every pillar, partnership, and program, 2024 embodied the essence of BOSS: inspiring, equipping, and empowering boys to move from passengers to drivers in their own lives.

BOSS Strong.
