In 2022, BOSS™ continued to build momentum—strengthening its year-round and multi-year process that equips Black, Latino, and under-resourced boys to succeed academically, lead confidently, and pursue meaningful careers.

The year began with Super Bowl LVI, where BOSS hosted its Super Bowl Shuffle Sponsor Appreciation event in partnership with the Los Angeles Rams and the NFL’s 8 to 80 Legends Zone initiative. The event celebrated BOSS scholars, recognized long-time supporters, and previewed plans for a state-of-the-art Legends Zone on the CSULB campus—an innovation hub for Esports, media, and STEM career training.

The BOSS experience reached new audiences through the Cleveland MUNY Football League partnership, bringing academic coaching, leadership development, and virtual mentoring to middle school athletes in BOSS founder Everett Glenn’s hometown

Locally, BOSS scholars gained behind-the-scenes access to major industries through The Alliance’s NASCAR and AEG Futures events, learning directly from professionals in engineering, media, and sports business

The 7th Annual BOSS Summer Camp welcomed 50 newcomers to Long Beach State for immersive experiences in coding, entrepreneurship, and content creation—culminating in a Lakers Youth Foundation basketball clinic. Campers engaged in pre-teaching sessions for their upcoming fall courses, ensuring they entered the school year confident and prepared

Academically, after-school tutoring continued daily, while BOSS Talks featured role models like Rams’ safety David Long, Microsoft executive Jameson Evans, and NFL Hall of Famer Gill Byrd, connecting success principles to real-world experience.

Thanks to a $100,000 grant from the Munzer Foundation, BOSS expanded its technology and career-readiness infrastructure, paving the way for even greater impact.

Through every season of 2022, the BOSS process remained consistent—mentoring minds, strengthening hearts, and multiplying opportunity.

BOSS Strong.
